Hello Texas

Published by Mike under Uncategorized

It looks like Mike Lowell is going to Texas. I wish him well. Sox fans will miss him and will fondly remember his clutch hitting in the 2007 playoffs. As Sox fans are we happy having a winner (or close to one) every year if the names and the faces of the players keep changing? It is apparent that Theo’s way of doing things involves a revolving door. I have spent a ton of money buying new player shirts, though it was fun turning the Johnny Damon shirt into a Demon shirt. That being said, I might be able to pull the old Coco shirt out of the closet. Do we really like having a whole new line-up every year?  Sox tickets go on sale this weekend, I will be purchasing the first Ranger game in Boston. Get ready for a standing “O”. Bye-Bye Mikey. We will miss you and your dancing.

Papi Got a Hit

Published by Mike under Uncategorized

Papi finally got a hit. Going into the 5th inning he is 1 for 2. The team was doing some strange voodoo exorcism thing at the beginning of the game. I guessed it worked, the evil batting spirits are gone. Papi just struck out, maybe not.  7-6 0.5 games out

Lester is pitching tonight, not Beckett. I took a picture of him at spring training.

Good Win Last Night

Published by Mike under Uncategorized

It was a good win yesterday and last night. Five hours, god bless the people you stuck it out till the end. Being the bottom of the 8th inning, I assume the beer vendors were closed. Poor Papi, he is in a horrible slump. It was good to see people cheering and chanting “Papi, Papi”, in support, at the game. I was listening to talk radio during the rain delay and there were people who actually called in to say that the crowd should start booing Papi. Are you kidding?!?

Its going to be a cold late night tonight. Go Sox! 6-6 1.5 games out

Mike Lowell is going on the DL

Published by Mike under Uncategorized

Mike has a sprained left thumb. Channel 4 is reporting he is heading to the disabled list. He had an MRI today. I guess we are lucky it is only sprained.

Are we worried about Mikey and Papi?

Published by Mike under Uncategorized

They are not hitting yet. Should we be worried? I know it’s still early, we can bring up this subject in a couple of weeks. It could be worse, the whole team could be hitting like the Tigers.

It was so nice that Johnny Pesky was so involved in yesterday’s ceremony. I even saw him break into a jog.

Was the trip to Japan not a good thing?

Published by Mike under Uncategorized

First, I am going to try and post on this blog everyday the Red Sox have a game. Second, I missed yesterday already. Third, Hopefully I will do 2 today.

The Red Sox looked really flat in yesterday’s 10-2 loss to the Jays. Was the trip to Japan a mistake? Denise keeps saying so. I am not sold yet. Let see what happens in the next 10 games. Josh is back today, Yippeeeee!

Below is a picture from this years spring traing. Johnny Pesky was nice enough to take a picture with me. I only put this up because Jim Rice was talking about him yesterday. I didnt know he was Jim Rice’s hitting coach.
